Large-bottle cellar: Paradise for the vinophile
Wine cellar of the Hospiz Alm
Senior manager, Adi Werner, is a renowned wine lover. Even the exquisite branch of the hotel, the Hospiz Alm Ski Lodge, has an impressive large-bottle cellar.
In the wine cellar of the Hospiz Alm lies one of the world's largest collections of wines in large bottles. The wine matures particularly nicely and more slowly in these bottles than in standard bottles. Thus, the wines stay longer and have a particular flavor. The wines in the large-bottle cellar are precious rarities, of which only a few bottles exist per year. Some Châteaux fill these sizes exclusively for the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel and the Hospiz Alm. You can acquire large bottles of the younger vintages as gems for your own wine cellar. Look closely with comfort: You will be advised by the sommeliers when making a wine choice.
Take a flavor tour through the best growing regions of the world. Travel and flavor guide, Adi Werner, will open the gates for you to the large-bottle wine cellar of the gourmet Hospiz Alm restaurant and thus to the world of wine.
Adi Werner's wine collection – a hand-chosen selection of liquid jewels that was awarded the 5 Star Diamond Award . This award is one of the most sought-after awards: sought by many, received by few. The Arlberg Hospiz Hotel and the Hospiz Alm in St. Christoph am Arlberg not only met the standards, but set a higher bar in terms of win. In the wine cellars of the arlberg1800 RESORT rests the largest private wine collection of first-class Bordeaux and Burgundy wines in large bottles. Since the early 1980s, Adi Werner has had fine wines that were matured in wine casks in Bordeaux filled into bottles of up to 12, 15, and 18 liters. The wine matures particularly well in the large bottles.
