Since its founding in 1995, the Szymanowski Quartet has developed into an ensemble that combines passion and musicality with experience and an in-depth understanding of its repertoire . The string quartet won all kinds of different prizes and awards such as at competitions of Melbourne, Osaka and Florence. From 2001 to 2003, the four strings were "New Generation Artists" of the BBC and received the prestigious "Szymanowski Prize" in 2005. In 2007, the ensemble was awarded the Medal of Honor by the Polish government for its services to Polish culture.
The Szymanowski Quartet is a popular guest on major concert stages around the world, such as London's Wigmore Hall, Cité Paris, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Konzerthaus and Musikverein Wien, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Konzerthaus Berlin and Shanghai Symphony Hall. Annual tours take the musicians to Europe, Asia, South and North America. In 2017 the Szymanowski Quartet presented two new CDs: "Les Vendredis" at SWR Music and Dimitri Shostakovich's Piano Quintet with Michail Lifits at DECCA.
